Reid & Harrison Celebrates Milestone Service Awards at Hobbiton

Reid & Harrison recently hosted a memorable celebration, combining a Christmas function with service award presentations, at the iconic Hobbiton venue in Matamata. With its relaxed atmosphere and scenic surroundings, Hobbiton provided the perfect setting for this special event, which brought together the company’s close-knit team of 30 staff members.

This year’s event was especially notable, as eight members celebrated major service milestones, including five reaching the impressive 10-year mark - Keith Cooke, Shane Omundsen, Colin Rusk, Matt Baird and Angus Mclean. Recognised for their dedication and contributions since joining in 2014, these long-standing employees were instrumental during a key growth phase for Reid & Harrison. 

In addition to this, office manager Sharon Jenkin marked her 20th year with the company, and Seaton Dalley, now the owner who worked his way up from the shop floor, celebrated 30 years. The highlight of the evening was when Martin Prescott received his 40-year service award, reflecting his deep knowledge of the company’s products and history.

Following a guided tour of the Hobbiton movie set, the celebration continued with a banquet at the Green Dragon Inn, where staff enjoyed an array of dishes in a fun and informal setting. There was plenty of laughter, food, drinks and camaraderie, as the team shared stories and looked back on their journey together. It was a night to remember!

The evening was a joyful celebration of the strong bonds and loyalty that have grown within Reid & Harrison over the years. It was more than just an awards ceremony - it was a chance to recognise the people who have helped shape the company’s success while enjoying a fun, relaxed event that perfectly matched the company’s welcoming and friendly culture. The gathering highlighted that Reid & Harrison is not just a workplace, but a close-knit community of individuals dedicated to mutual success.
